Description:

I bought this Camaro about 8 years ago. The body is in almost the exact condition it was when I got it.
I’m not a body man, but I am a trained, experienced mechanic and I have upgraded / rebuilt and restored quite a bit of the mechanical parts and interior on this car.
The 396 c.i.d. Big Block Chevy (date coded out of a 1968 Chevelle) engine has been rebuilt (about 3000 miles ago) and has a healthy hydraulic cam, roller tipped rockers, HEI ignition, Edelbrock carb and RPM intake on it.
I suspect it’s making in the 425-450 hp range.
The entire 2½” exhaust system is Flowmaster (including long tube 1 7/8″ primary tube headers) and (original looking) stainless steel tips. This car sounds perfect. Not too loud, not to quiet. Perfect lope and throttle response and a fantastic ROAR at full throttle.
New parts: Gas tank, Radiator, Delco Moraine brake booster with show quality master cylinder, Delco R59 vintage looking battery with AGM (glass mat) internals and spring clamp cables, many new brake lines, Tail lamp assemblies and rear wiring harness, trunk latch, Triple chrome bumpers from Heartbeat City front and back……on and on…..
Rebuilt: All bushings / ball joints front and rear, driveshaft, front and rear brakes, tilt steering column. I had the front seats repaired and zinc plated so they won’t rust as easily. (See pics)
The differential is a Chevy 12 bolt BV code (quite rare), 4.10 posi-traction. With era correct date codes. I don’t know if it’s original to the car or not. I don’t believe the individual VIN numbers were noted on the diffs.
The interior is 99% perfect.
Just about everything in there is new. Steering wheel, mirror, gauges, bezels, dash pad, seat covers, seat foam, headliner, A pillar pads, headrests, correct “round” Hurst shifter arm, carpet, sail panels, Stewart Warner “Green Line” gauges, door panels, arm rests, window felts, wind lace, moulding…on and on… About $5k worth of parts.
I recognize the body has some issues. Not so bad that they can’t be repaired, but it’s still a nice “driver” as is. I get many compliments on it at the local car shows . They are NOT structural, only cosmetic.
I will include all these steel body panels with the sale: (Left rear quarter, Rear taillight surround, Trunk floor, Left & Right passenger floors, & Right side door skin). About $900 worth of sheet metal.
I’ve inspected all the areas I can get to with a flashlight and mirrors, and I DON’T see any major rusty areas. I’m seeing like 5-6 small rust holes like the size of a dime or smaller. This body is TOTALLY savable. Again, even you didn’t address these issues, the car still looks quite good and your feet aren’t gonna drag the ground anytime soon.
OK, now all the particulars……….The title is clear and registration is current (expires June 2016).
– Of course there is free local pick up, but if you want to ship, you must handle and pay for all those arrangements yourself. I will help the truck driver load the car, and the car must be paid for in FULL, before I will release the car.
If you pay my asking price, I will throw in a huge box of NEW 1969 Camaro parts worth more than $1k!
The car is for sale locally and on other sites.
