Ordered new at Colonial Chevrolet in Acton, MA. The car is Navy Blue Metallic (28U) with Dark Gray Cloth interior (14B) equip with 6 speed manual transmission (MN6), Hurst Short Throw Shifter (BBS) and T-Top removable roof panels (CC1). Additionally, the car includes many Street Legal Performance special orders options making it extremely rare. These options include Bilstein Ultra Performance Suspension System, Performance Exhaust System, and Castrol Syntec High Performance Lubricants Package.
The optional SS appearance package included more menacing exterior styling with the aggressive SS hood, 5 spoke SS wheels and attractive SS rear spoiler. The interior of this stunning SS appears as pristine and well-cared for as the exterior. Desirable comforts like air conditioning, power windows, power door locks and 6 way power driver’s seat.
AutoWeek reviewed the Camaro Z28 SS in 1998 and summed up their experience with the following statement: “It’s never been better than this. You can’t call any automobile the best anything without accounting for personal taste. With that reminder, we’ll get to the point: Some folks at AutoWeek will tell you that the 1998 Camaro Z28 with the SS package is the best muscle car ever made.”
Looking back on the long history of the F-Body, there’s little doubt that this 1999 SS is one of the most enjoyable Camaros of all time. It exhibits the best of everything from one of the last authentic pony cars, and it’s the perfect fit for any serious collector who loves showroom-spec muscle. Buy the car and stash it away for a few decades, or take it out and enjoy every second of one of the best eras of automotive performance!
